Our Services

Comprehensive Advisory Services

A comprehensive advisory engagement for individuals and high net worth individuals involves developing a financial and investment strategy specifically suited to their goals, risk tolerance, and life stage. We then implement and oversee this strategy using comprehensive, diversified managed portfolios.

Portfolio Management

As part of an advisory engagement, we create comprehensive, diversified portfolios for clients to help protect and grow their wealth. We also offer customized separately managed accounts (SMAs) pursuing specific mandates, including value-oriented opportunistic strategies.

Our Philosophy

Noordzee Capital’s investment and business philosophy rests on a solid foundation of core principles.

Business Philosophy

We are a fiduciary to our clients, meaning we have an ethical and legal obligation to always act in our clients’ best interest, to place their interests ahead of our own, and to operate under the highest standards of care and professionalism.

We conduct “first class business in a first class way,” to paraphrase J.P. Morgan, Jr., meaning we do business with a constant focus on the interests of our clients and consistent mindfulness of the importance of integrity.

We are transparent up-front with our clients about fees, downside risks, and upside opportunities.

Compliance with both the letter and spirit of the law is an ever-present priority.

Investment Philosophy

Our approach to investing is rooted in the principles of value investment made applicable to modern market conditions.

Investment, Not Speculation: We are investors, not speculators, meaning investments should be underwritten based on underlying fundamentals and conservative assumptions.

Good Businesses: All else equal, we prefer to invest in good businesses that benefit from sustainable competitive advantages and barriers to entry.

Mean Reversion: Mean reversion, whether of returns, margins, or valuations, is a powerful market force and an important determinant of returns. Expectations for persistence (the opposite of mean reversion) should be backed by good reason.

Margin of Safety: Investments should be made with a margin of safety in the interest of protecting capital from permanent loss.

Valuation: The starting valuation of an investment is an important determinant of not only margin of safety but also returns over time.

Cautious About Leverage: Leverage increases both upside and downside. We approach the use of leverage with caution and prefer investments in companies with strong balance sheets.

Fee Awareness: We are wary of investments with high fees and insist that our clients receive value for any fees paid.
